Getting inspiration from the cafes they saw abroad and the group’s shared interest for good coffee, Common Folk is a clean and minimalist space that invites anyone in. We must say, almost every spot in the café is Instaworthy. On the menu is a selection of filing feel-good dishes and pick-me-up drinks.

A lot of restaurants in manila pride themselves in being healthy and organic, FAT is not one of them. They are unapologetic with their dishes that they have packed with flavour and well, fat. From the same people who brought to you Locavore comes an exciting new brunch spot serving up classic Filipino cuisine infused with a global bistro techniques and unexpected ingredient twists. The interiors are are kept very neutral and minimal to put a spotlight on the dishes.

It’s not a catcafe, neither is it a sci-fi techno hub. Catabolic Café is a place that serves comfort food with amazing interiors. A place for students and residents in the area, this brunch spot enjoys a modern and edgy interior designed by Nix Alañon. It is a play on fun patterns, colors, and textures, making it easily lovable for Manila Millennials.

Single Origin, BGC
A one-stop-shop for all your comfort food needs, Single Origin serves up everything from brunch to cocktails. The industrial yet pub-like interiors give the space a warm and welcoming vibe. The owners share that they wanted to deviate from something too showy or alienating, so they played with a lot of warm woods to achieve that welcoming vibe.

Fundamental Coffee, Makati
From the people behind yardstick and Bo’s Coffee, Fundamental Coffee is a chill spot in Manila serving up great coffee and equally amazing food. This brunch spot that serves up comforting beverages and heart meals at a reasonable price is designed by Lisa Crespo from Ecotecture. The sharp lines and the cold metallic accents are balanced out with the warmth of the wooden floor details and some greens. A main highlight in the design? The island coffee bar where customers can see the baristas craft up drinks.
