6. Mad About The House (@mad_about_the_house)

Stylist Kate Watson Smyth has long been a source of interior inspiration through her blog “Mad About The House”. Now accessible in bits thru her Instagram, she shares stunning and moody vignettes featuring iconic design classics, gorgeous tablescapes, and her styling tips.

Fancy another before and after? This is the bathroom as it is now and swipe to see as it used to be. The purple, which looks rather alarming here, was actually a gorgeous deep, dark aubergine called Pelt by Farrow & Ball. Perhaps we should just have done the whole room but, at the time, it went with the en suite bedroom (as it were). I'll dig that out too if you like. 📷 before by @paullmcraig 📷after by @jamesbalston. I'm off to Design Junction today to see what's new and what's coming and there may well be a whole new colour scheme planned by dinner (burnt orange? Teal? Burgundy…. the 70s are coming back for us you know). Before I go, can I also say that madaboutthehouse.com was ranked the U.K. No 1 interiors blog for the second year running by @vuelio yesterday. It's worked out on stats including engagement, reach, relevance and hits, and so I want to thank all of you for reading and commenting and being part of the Mad House who have helped to put it there. Five posts a week for nearly six years and you have clicked and have read, thank you.
