As a fan of modern design and neutral palettes, Sarah Ching-Castillo creates up-to-date spaces with Filipino flavor. “Modern designs have the tendency to be cold and hard. Local textures and colors balance their appearance”, she says. With a degree in Architecture from the University of the Philippines Diliman, she focuses on how to make everyday living spaces more enjoyable. “Effective design encourages interaction and fosters good vibes. It has the power to influence the way people think and feel”, she shares.

“Green design will be stronger with the interest of protecting the environment”, she states. For building and renovating homes, she advises home-owners to start by identifying which spaces are essential and distributing the working budget around the importance of the spaces.
